These 8 Makeup Products Stay Put Through an 80-Degree Festival Weekend

For a girl who hates large crowds of sweaty, anxious teens, kicking through muddy grass, and unnecessarily long walks, I sure have trekked to a lot of festivals this season. While I wouldn’t call myself a seasoned festival guru (I haven’t attended Coachella, just yet). One thing I do have down pat is the formula for long-lasting makeup.

Blotting and touching up your makeup is such a buzzkill and without a combination of good, long-lasting bases—SPF, foundation, and concealer—your makeup will melt away faster than your frosé. At Lollapalooza in Chicago this past weekend, where I came as a guest of Revlon, I learned a very important lesson: Forget your normal beauty routine because it just doesn’t stand a chance. You know what did stand the test of time, though? These eight melt-proof, long-lasting products that kept me fresh and glowy (not greasy) from dusk ’til dawn.

The Melt-Proof Foundation

PhotoReady Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation in Mocha (550)

Revlon
ulta.com

$10.99

The hunt for a good foundation stopped the moment Revlon’s Photoready Candid Foundation came into my life. I have dry skin with lots of acne scarring and just one pump of the foundation covered it all up. When I tell you this foundation lasted all day, I really mean it. I slathered my face in it around 11:30AM on day three of Lollapalooza and it stayed put while I stood under the hot sun as I caught the last 30 minutes of 6lack’s performance, worked up a sweat dancing to Lil Wayne’s hour-long set, and powered through post-festival drinks. I returned to my room art 10:35 PM with a healthy glow that I didn’t want to remove.

The Instant Glow Moisturizer

Active Radiance Day Broad Spectrum Facial Moisturizer

Specific Beauty
target.com

$34.99

Of course standing, power-walking, and running from stage to stage in 80-degree weather requires a powerful dose of sunscreen. I have to thank my mother for introducing me to this gem from Specific Beauty. Its lightweight, breathable formula not only protects the skin from damaging UVA/UVB rays and aging, but it leaves tiny gold flecks for instant glowing skin and the perfect base to apply liquid foundation.

3

The Fine Line Fighting Concealer

Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer

Laura Mercier
nordstrom.com

$29.00

I start almost every makeup look by covering my acne scars with this concealer. What I love most about Laura Mercier’s Flawless Fusion Concealer is that it makes me look, well, flawless; it has a creamy texture that blends to perfection and works with any product I use, brightens my undereye and doesn’t settle into my fine lines.

4

The Eye-lectric Lady

ColorStay Eyeliner Pencil in Teal

Revlon
amazon.com

$7.99

$4.49 (44% off)

I had the pleasure of getting my makeup done by the makeup whisperer herself, Katie Jane Hughes, and when she asked me what look I was going for, I had one word: Euphoria. Euphoria‘s makeup is always bright and wacky, a common theme for festival makeup, so KJH created a winged floating line on my upper lash line with the teal Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner Pencil and added another teal line just above my crease. To my surprise, my teal look remained fresh at the end of the night, even after I took a stroll through Lollapalooza’s misting fans at the hydration stations, roller bladed at Revlon’s roller rink, and wiped away my sweat because…Janelle Monáe.

5

The Budge-Proof Liner

Infallible Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner in Black

L’Oréal
ulta.com

$6.74

I can’t remember when I first purchased this eyeliner but I never want to live in a world without it. My lids get really oily and a liquid liner that lasts through my oily lids and an entire festival is a lot of responsibility to bear but L’Oréal’s Infallible liner said “challenge accepted.”

6

The Life-Giving Bronzer

Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer in Mocha Mami

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna
sephora.com

$30.00

I looked like a sunkissed goddess all weekend long at Lollapalooza and it’s all thanks to Fenty Beauty’s bronzer. I flew in the morning of Lollapalooza Day 2 and brushing this bronzer across my cheeks and across my forehead made me look awake and gave me a post-vacation glow.

7

The Blurring Loose Powder

Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder in Kunafa

Huda Beauty
sephora.com

$34.00

I’m not the most trusting when it comes to setting powders because I’ve been burned in the past. But Huda Beauty’s Easy Bake powder helped me get over my trust issues. This setting powder is basically a blur filter IRL, finely milled so it melts into the skin and extremely mattifying.

8

The All Day and Nighter Spray

All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

Urban Decay
ulta.com

$32.00

I don’t even need to explain how powerful Urban Decay’s All Nighter Spray is. You’ve definitely heard about it. Yes, it’s that good.
