There’s just something about the arrival of fall that inspires a lot of us to undergo a complete transformation, be it a new hair cut or color, and Britney Spears is ready for a fresh new start. Our forever pop queen and longtime blondie ditched her signature blonde hair to return to her roots just in time for fall.
Britney opted for a soft ash brown shade with her hair cut in light layers. “Same faces, same dress, new hair !!!!” she captioned an Instagram post of her showing off her new hair in a series of playful photos. “Yes, my sister inspired me to go dark !!!!!!!” Her boyfriend, Sam Asghari gave his stamp of approval, writing, “Beautiful blond or black ❤️”

Britney’s natural hair color is brown and even after becoming the blonde bombshell we know today, the pop star has dabbled with darker hair colors. In 2013, she had a brunette moment with subtle light brown highlights and light layers.

I’d like to imagine the Spears Sister group chat must be filled with hair inspo images from Pinterest because just a month ago, Jamie Lynn Spears debuted her new two-toned hair color with the top of her hair a light blonde shade that blended into a chocolate brown color at the bottom. While Britney’s new hair color is probably for fun, Jamie Lynn’s dye job is for an upcoming role as Noreen in the Netflix series Sweet Magnolias.
“Mama’s going back to work y’all 🎬🎥Can’t wait for y’all to meet “Noreen”!! I fell in love with this story, and so excited I get to be a part of telling it,” she wrote on Instagram announcing her new role.
