It was because I saw so many girls turn into someone else on their D Day and I did not want that to happen to me.
With time, Makeup Artists became a sensation and it became a trend to get your makeup done by some lavish Makeup Salon. I was never in favor of splurging so much money for a One Time Makeup that would be washed off after a few hours.
For sure, it is the most important day of anyone’s life, but I respected my parents’ hard-earned money and could never get in favor of going crazy just because of one big day.
I also personally feel that every girl should know how to do basic makeup. We should not depend of someone else entirely. So, I taught myself How to do Makeup over the years, I invested in good makeup products and self-taught myself through YouTube Tutorials.
Now when my wedding was happening, I was thankfully in contact with some really good Makeup Artists due to my Social Media presence. They were even offered to do my Bridal Makeup for Free because we had such good connections.
And also by this time, I myself was good enough in doing my own Makeup, thanks to all the trials and errors I did over all these years.
I could also book the Best Makeup Artists in town, I had no boundations on money.
But out of all the options I had, I chose to do my own Makeup on my Wedding Day, because we should always do what our heart tells us.
I got ready in less than 25 minutes including doing my Makeup, wearing my Dress, draping Hijab, and adorning my Jewellery.
When I look back, I feel so proud of myself. And I would have never traded this feeling with someone else getting me ready for my Nikah. I made myself well trained and confident in my own abilities.
Now, I have a Skill that will remain with me for the rest of my life, I have knowledge of Products and Makeup. I also own Makeup Products that I can use until next many years.
And most importantly, I have a story to tell my kids and inspire them to believe in themselves.
Believe in Yourself and take a firm stand once you make a decision and work hard to achieve your desired results. It makes you proud for the rest of your life.
